⚖️Law - What is it good for?
Roger is in prison and facing the longest sentence in UK history for peaceful protest. It's time to help.
Tomorrow, Roger, along with the rest of the #WholeTruthFive (WTF), will be sentenced to what will likely be the longest prison sentences for peaceful protest in UK history. Their "crime"? Participating in a Zoom call to discuss proportionate disruptive action against catastrophic new fossil fuel licences. WTF!
The UN has slammed the trial for persecution and the harsh penalty of its defendants. During the trial, the five weren’t allowed to use the science of how putting carbon in the atmosphere will kill millions (the whole truth) as evidence in our defence for disruption of the M25, one of the UK’s most polluting motorways.
The justice system is fucked.
Stand up against it, before you're next.
Join the Sentencing Rally at 4pm outside Southwark Crown Court (Thursday 18th) with nature TV presenter, Chris Packham and family of the defendants.
As Roger is currently remanded in prison, without being allowed a phone call for a week and half, this week we will have a guest article by Real Media, Law - What is it Good For? The article goes in-depth into the #WholeTruthFive trial and particularly Roger's defense arguments.
It serves as a damning indictment of the UK's crumbling legal system as well as a guide for all those in resistance on what arguments can be used effectively to defend themselves in court. Well worth a read.
If you'd like to send Roger a message of support, you can email a note through to him in prison by sending it to rogerremanded@gmail.com.
Whilst you're here, please donate to the #WholeTruthFive crowdfunder to help with the substantial legal costs and our process for an appeal.
